Gary Morgan Joins SeaWatch Books' Author Roster!

I'm delighted to announce a project with new author Gary Morgan. You may know Gary from Model Ship World where he goes by the handle Morgan. He had recently completed a very intriguing and thoroughly researched investigation into the appearance of HMS Victory at Trafalgar.

When it was brought to my attention, I realized this would make an excellent book and a great addition to SeaWatch's library so I reached out to Gary about it. Thankfully, he agreed! We have a fair amount of work to do to get into book format and I hope to have it available late this year. Stay tuned for more details!

For now, a bit more about Gary:

Currently living in Hartlepool in the North East of England, Gary Morgan grew up to the south across the river Tees with the industrial back-drop of Middlesbrough.

Upon leaving college Gary commenced what would be a 40 year career in Engineering and Construction, gaining a Masters level education and rising to be a Commercial Director within a Multi National Engineering Services company. Now retired, his career saw him engaged with projects from Hong Kong to the eastern seaboard of the United States, kindling a continuing passion for travel and exploration of new destinations.

Gary specialized in Commercial Services spanning the lifecycle of projects, from drafting and negotiating contracts, to dealing with disputes. The latter often involving complex legal proceedings necessitating extensive research and forensic analysis to establish the facts of a case to a legally acceptable standard the proof.

Alongside his career there has been an ever present escape from the pressures of work - a lifelong passion for nautical history. The attention to detail gained throughout his career providing Gary with the skillset necessary to forensically establish the facts of a case has also provided the foundation for the crossover into his first foray writing on nautical matters.

As has been the case for so many others, Gary’s love of British maritime history grew from a boyhood encounter with the novels of C S Forester. This early foray into the nautical world, starting with Horatio Hornblower and his fictional contemporaries, fed a desire to explore the real naval world of the 18th and early 19th Century. Living on the coast in Hartlepool, and having the opportunity to witness the transformation and restoration of both HMS Warrior and HMS Trincomalee on his doorstep, has served to continually fuel that interest.
